Kalainaya ("we," "us," "our") operates kalainaya.shop. This policy explains what information we collect when you browse the Site or submit a quote request, and how we use it.
1. Information We Collect
When you submit a quote request, we collect:
- Contact details: full name, email address, phone number, preferred contact method
- Delivery information: recipient name, address lines, city, state/region, postal code, country
- Order details: the pieces you've added to your cart, quantities, and any notes you include
- We do not collect payment card or bank details through this Site, since no payment is processed here.
We may also automatically collect basic technical data when you browse (such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate location from IP address) via standard website analytics tools.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Prepare and relay your itemised quote from the artisan supplier
- Reach you by email, phone, or WhatsApp about your request or order
- Share your delivery details with the artisan supplier, who packs and ships confirmed orders directly to you
- Communicate about availability, customs requirements, and delivery
- Improve our Site and product offering
- Meet our own legal, tax, and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Who We Share It With
We share information only as needed to fulfil your request:
- Artisan suppliers in India, who manufacture, price, pack, and ship your order, and who receive your payment directly
- Shipping carriers/freight partners engaged by the supplier, to deliver your order internationally
- Communication tools (e.g., email, WhatsApp) used to reach you, subject to those providers' own privacy practices. Payment details you exchange directly with the supplier never pass through this Site.
- Service providers who help us run the Site (e.g., hosting, analytics)
- Authorities, where required by law (e.g., customs declarations, tax reporting)
4. International Transfers
Because we are based in India and ship worldwide, your information (including your delivery address) is transferred to and processed in India and, where relevant, in the destination country for shipping and customs purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain quote requests and order records for as long as needed to fulfil your order, meet accounting/tax obligations, and handle any post-delivery claims, after which we delete or anonymize the data unless a longer period is required by law.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information (subject to our legal/accounting retention needs)
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time
To exercise any of these, contact us at mail2kalainaya@gmail.com.
7. Cookies & Analytics
The Site may use cookies or similar tools to remember your cart contents and understand how visitors use the Site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some Site features (like your cart).
8. Children's Privacy
This Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy

If you plan to serve customers in the EU (GDPR), UK (UK GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), or other jurisdictions with specific data-protection laws, have this reviewed and tailored by an attorney — requirements differ meaningfully (e.g., naming a data controller, specific legal bases for processing, and formal rights-request procedures).
